About
Karl August Krogh Nybo
ML student interested in AI safety, music, design, and camera stuff.
A Little Context
I study Machine Learning and Data Science at the University of Copenhagen. I've been interested in AI safety for a while now. I find technical alignment especially interesting, but I'm fascinated by many safety subfields, from mechanistic interpretability to model honesty. I think a lot about where I can make a difference. This leads me to also consider things like how AI can help with nature conservation. In my spare time I write and play music, mostly jazz and classical. I also love nerding out about cameras and video production. I take pictures with my beloved Fujifilm X-T30, and I've made two short films with a homemade anamorphic lens I built.
Here my life's timeline, with trivia facts interspersed:
This digital garden serves as my space to explore ideas at the intersection of technology, creativity, and ethics. I'm particularly interested in AI alignment , digital gardening as a method for knowledge cultivation, and the creative arts .
A Little History
I've always been fascinated by both the analytical and creative aspects of life. Growing up, I found equal joy in learning about technology and playing music.
This led me to explore machine learning. As I delved deeper into the field, I became increasingly concerned with the ethical implications of AI systems, which sparked my interest in AI safety research.
Alongside my technical pursuits, I've continued to nurture my creative side through music production and occasional filmmaking. I believe that maintaining this creative outlet is essential for staying grounded and bringing joy to my everyday.
Currently, I'm based in Copenhagen, balancing my studies in machine learning with creative projects and explorations in design and web development.
